What we’ve been working on — new features, fixes, and improvements to Daylight.
8 April 2026
Search, shortcuts & a better first experience
A batch of improvements to help you move faster and feel at home from the first visit.
Meeting search — press / to search meetings by title, attendee name, or email
Keyboard shortcuts — J/K to navigate, C to create, E to complete, G then M/T to switch views, and ? to see them all
Welcome experience — new users land on a populated workspace with a sample meeting and starter tasks instead of a blank canvas
Smoother onboarding — skip Granola setup and come back to it later, plus an interactive guide for finding your API key

Tags, custom tasks & flexible layouts
This update is about giving you more control — over how you organise tasks, how you create them, and how you use your screen.
Tag support — add #tags inline in task descriptions to categorise and filter your work
Custom tasks — quickly add your own tasks directly from the tasks panel, no meeting required
Resizable columns — drag to resize the three workspace columns to suit your workflow, with your preference remembered across sessions
Refined card labels — cleaner, lighter header styling across the workspace

Richer task detail & improved reliability
Focused on making each task a more useful home for context — and smoothing out the rough edges from launch.
Task descriptions with full Markdown support — headings, lists, links, and more via the built-in editor
Nested list rendering — properly handles complex, multi-level notes from your meetings
Auto-sync on load — your meetings are fetched automatically when you open Daylight, no manual refresh needed
Encrypted key handling — more resilient key detection and re-authentication flow
Drag-and-drop reordering — prioritise your to-do list by dragging tasks into the order that makes sense

Initial release
Daylight connects to Granola, reads your meeting notes, and uses AI to extract every actionable task — so nothing discussed in a meeting ever falls through the cracks.
Automatic task extraction — AI reads your Granola meeting notes and pulls out every action item
Three-column workspace — meetings, detail view, and tasks side by side
People insights — see who you meet with most and what tasks involve whom
Encrypted API key storage — your Granola key is encrypted server-side before being stored in your browser
Mobile-friendly layout — fully responsive design that adapts to any screen size
